I hope I never have to bury a child.

After the death of my friend Jake in August I just kept thinking how terrible the loss must be for his parents.  I can't even imagine what that must feel like.  I know that I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around his death and around the fact that there are so many things he never got to experience.  So to be a parent and to have to busy a child... I just can't even comprehend that kind of pain.

I think this is pretty self explanatory.  I truly hope I never have to go through something like this.  And I continue to send good thoughts to Jake's family and hope that he's looking down on me.

Wow! That's a really difficult question to answer this week; but I have to agree with you...I cannot imagine how painful it is to have to bury your own child. :(

Dancing Branflake

I that is what I fear most about parenthood. The health and safety of my child is the most precious thing.

Brittany

Agreed! That is my BIGGEST fear!

Some nights I put my hand on Aidyn chest just to make sure it is still rising and falling and he is three and half! I dont think I could live another day without him!

Signe

I agree, that would be the worst thing ever :(

Diana Mieczan

I also think that no-one should have to go through something like that. It has to be so hard and heartbreaking.
Have a relaxing Sunday,sweetie

Hugs, friend. Thinking of you. Thanks for your listening ear last night--you are the best.

Poppy

This is the same thing I hope I'll never have to do. I know far too many people who have lost their children and they've told me it's a pain that never goes away.

Jen

Amen to that! Just reading the sentence made my heart skip a beat. It's a terrifying thought.

lindsay vicious

hey, girl! so i like that blogger meet-up thing! what are the details? am i too late in asking about it? sorry for the delayed response. :D

Kristy

I completely agree. It must be the worst thing ever.

Katy

I agree completely. i cannot imagine that. I start work in pediatrics this week and it's hard enough to see children that are sick. ;-(

Jessica

I've heard the two hardest things are to lose a parent or lose a child. Just thinking about it breaks my heart.

Josie

Dear girl, I'm so sorry about your friend, and I also cannot imagine having to bury a child -- terrifying.

Having to bury anyone close is tough, never having children i wont be in that postition but i would feel the same about my nieces/nephew as sometimes i feel like their surragate. parent! Or my sister. That would kill me.

Krystal

me too :(

Holley

Looks like we both had the same thought on this one!

Emily Jane

That's a really, really tough question, and such a terrible thing to ever have to even think about :(

I just attended a funeral on Saturday for a friend of my husbands who died way too early, only 26. All I could think about were his poor parents who had to bury their only son. Just plain awful.

Jude

I'm slowly catching up on blog posts from being away - this would be one of my greatest fears as a parent - one of the greatest heartbreaks I can imagine.

amylou

completely agree. I can not imagine what that would be like.

Stephany

I completely agree with you. I couldn't even imagine having to go through this.
