NaNoWriMo is rocking my world this year. I'm not sure if it's the fact that I'm just inspired or the fact that I know you all will kick my butt if I don't finish but I'm seriously rocking it and feeling so good about myself.
Currently I am at 25,354. Is that unbelievable or what, just a little over a week and I am already more than halfway to 50,000! I have only had 1 day where I've done near the minimum of 1,667 words. Most days I've doubled that and the first day I even tripled it. I did take Saturday off because my brother and his girlfriend were in town and I worked all day. Plus I didn't want to completely burn out.
I'd like to tell you all about sponsoring me. I am currently trying to raise money through NaNo and am about 55% of the way toward my goal of $100 (thank you to Tracy, Steph and Ang!) but if I could go above and beyond that it would be pretty amazing. All proceeds from sponsorships go to NaNoWriMo's parent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Office of Letters and Light to pay for their free creative writing programs in over 2,000 classrooms, 500 communities, and 100 libraries around the world. This is something I believe so strongly in and I hope as bloggers (which makes every single one of us writers) you feel the same.
