2010: Book Reviews

Jen over at Crazy Shenanigans did a little year review of the books she's read and I thought that'd be fun since you all know I'm a bit of a bookworm.  Thanks for the idea lady!

Thus far this year I've read 38 books.  I'm about halfway through one of Christopher Pike's adult novels right now so I'm thinking the total will be 39 by New Year's Eve.  Not exactly the 41 that I read last year but still, not too shabby.

The best book I read this year is actually a tie between Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and Maggie Stiefvater's books Shiver and Linger.  I got really into the young adult genre this year and these were by far my favorites.  To see my reviews of these books, you can go here, here and here.  You should definitely check them out, they're so good!

And the worst book easily goes to Superstitious by R.L. Stine.  Such a bummer.  I grew up LOVING R.L. Stine's books!  But the man needs to stick to Goosebumps and Fear Street and stay away from adult novels.

Some other great contenders for this year were We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver (fabulous but HORRIBLE book all at the same time), Such A Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster (thanks Sara!), The Boys Are Back in Town by Christopher Golden (good library find) and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer (short read but totally loved it).

2010 was a great year in terms of books.  I can't wait to see what 2011 brings!

Connie @ SogniESorrisi

Great idea! I just might have to steal it ;)

Lisa from Lisa's Yarns

What a great post idea. I might have to do this when I return to blogging in the new year...

I went and counted to see how many I read, and my total is 48 which is kind of suprising! that's a lot of books! I will probably finish 1-2 more before the year ends!

Audrey Allure

I'm putting some of these on my reading list!

Cafe Fashionista

So I haven't read "Superstitious" myself, but I too grew up loving R.L. Stine and may check it out just for the heck of it. Have you read his "Dangerous Girls" books? They are phenom - even if you're not into vampires. :)

Smart Ass Sara

I got the book in the mail! A proper thank you is coming. And I'm glad you got me that one because I was bummed when I didn't win your giveaway! :) I don't know which books I've read just this year. I have a spreadsheet (seriously) listing everything so I know if I hit my 300 before I'm 30 mark. :) I need to pick up the fucking pace I'll tell you that much. I think I only read 60 this year. Yikes. Next year I need to double it. LOL!!

And I'm going to buy Beautiful Creatures with my BN gift card I got from my boss. :)

I love your book reviews and this is great - I'm looking for some holiday reading for the coming week! :) Hope you enjoy a wonderful Holiday and New Year's with your loved ones! And some well-deserved *time off*! :)
