Your questions answered.  Enjoy!

Why is your world upside down?  I guess upside down isn't really the right word.  It just doesn't feel settled right now.  I'm someone that likes to be settled so the minute things get stirred up I get scared.  Hence my mood swings lately.

What's the biggest misconception people have about being a server instead of a "9 to 5'er"?  I think people don't realize how hard it can be to have a schedule that is always changing.  I can tell you all that having had only 1 full weekend off since January is hard.  I get jealous when everyone is talking about their awesome, fun, relaxing weekends and all I did all weekend is work.  I also hate that people assume that just because I don't have a "real" job means I don't work hard.  I work my butt off to the point where I am exhausted at the end of my shifts.  And so it hurts when I hear people say those things.

Do you finish reading every book you start?  Nearly.  In the past few years I can think of only 2 books that I was unable to finish.  I'm stubborn and hate giving up so I try really hard to see the book through even if it is horrible.

What TV shows are you watching this summer?  Oh gosh... The Bachelorette, Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth and So You Think You Can Dance.  I'm also catching up on Flashpoint via Netflix and it's pretty awesome.

Are you excited for Harry Potter? Are you going to the midnight showing?  I'm excited and a little sad.  I still haven't decided if I'm going to the midnight showing or not.  I really want to but I'm not big on crowds and I have a feeling it may be a bit crowded... (edit: obviously I have since seen HP and it was AMAZING).

When you were dating did you have a type?  Nope.  I dated all different types of guys - jocks, nerds, republicans, atheists.  I think the only thing that all the guys I've been with have in common is their ability to have an intelligent conversation.  It doesn't matter about WHAT just so much as they have brains in their heads.

Are you working on a novel these days?  Unfortunately no.  I've been sort of all over the place lately but I know I need to get back on it.  I definitely have some ideas!

How do you get so tan? Do you spend every day outside?  Ha!  Honestly, even though we have a pool I do not spend every day outside.  I'm just one of the blessed few that tans easily.  I have a smidge of Native American blood and a smidge of Italian and I always say that's where my darker skin comes from.

My question is are you trying to make us all jealous?  Jealous of?  My wonky work hours, my psychotic hair or the fact that I never sleep totally through the night?  I'm certainly not trying to make anyone jealous.  My life is my life.  It's definitely not perfect.

How do you find your niche in the blogging world?  I truly don't know.  I know that my blog grows with me and I try to remain as true to myself as possible while still keeping parts of myself private.  My advice is always the same: stay true to yourself and let that shine through.

Thanks all for your fun questions!  If you have any more be sure to submit them through Formspring!

I LOL'd at the jealous question. i hope someone submitted that question as a joke because really, how can one be jealous of another person *over the internet*??

great, honest answers!

Dancing Branflake

Well, this was fun! I also love the jealous answer. You are hilarious! And I love your answer on how you found your niche in the blogging world. You are who you are and we love that.

hmmm.. i think it's funny that someone asked if you are trying to make us all jealous?! interesting question for sure. nice reply though.

as for the serving thing. i totally respect you for it. i served for seven months and let me tell everyone who reads this, it ain't easy work and you are SO under appreciated. it is extremely hard work, sometimes even a bad environment to begin with to be in, causes back pains and your hours are all sorts of screwed up. if you ever need to vent, feel free to send me an email. i hear ya sister.

xoxo missy.

Okay, as a former server at two restaurants who now has a "real job", let me just say that I do not miss the hard work of serving at all. You are correct, that unless you have been a server before you just CANNOT UNDERSTAND. I vividly remember the nights getting off work smelling like half-eaten food, and feeling so mentally and physically drained that sleep is more important than anything else in the world. Hard work is good for the soul! You get more out of a day's work than a lot of us desk people do. :)

I love your candidness!

Erika

I haven't been sleeping through the night either :( I'm on week 3 of zombie life. It stinks.

Tried bed time tea last night, no dice.

Cute post!

So good to catch up on your blog again and I love the openness and honesty that goes into this kind of post! :)

I think many people have misconceptions about people who work for themselves or have more unconventional jobs vs. 9 to 5ers. In fact, most of the people I know who don't work 9-5 work ALOT harder because, like you said, weekends aren't really weekends.
And I'm exactly the same with Harry Potter! I've seen it but I was sooo depressed when the credits rolled :(

Those questions are pretty interesting, but your responses were absolutely pitch perfect. I think anyone who hasn't worked in the service industry assumes waiting tables or bartending is easy money-the rest of us know it isn't!

Hope you're enjoying today, darling!

Savvy Gal

I love this post. we get to know you better. : ) x

I am stubborn when it comes to finishing books too, I rarely stop a book mid read. Glad to know someone else shares that weird trait :)

I loved your response to the jealous question. I really respect you for how honest you are on your blog, you don't have to, but you do, and that is worthy of respect <3

Deidre

I'm totally jealous of your hair - for serious.

Ok, I am not green with envy or anything.

Oh, nevermind.

I need to do a post like this sometime soon. I need to get my formspring back to do that!

I think a lot of people have big misconceptions of people who don't work traditional 9-to-5 jobs, but I know you work so hard at what you do and I know I couldn't do it!!

KimBerly

Thank you for sharing. It's been nice getting to know you through your blog.

Kristin

Serving is no joke. I've never been so tired as when I was cocktailing!

Punctuation Mark

i love this post so we can get to know you better... you are lovely and please don't be scared about things to come!

Charlotte

Loved your answers to these and I myself am jealous of your ability to tan so well :)

Layla

SO unfair! I have more than a smidge of Native American blood (maternal great grandmother was full Cherokee) and I am the palest person I know!! Also, I agree about the 9-5 vs server hours. My 9-5 friends would always say how jealous they were that I got to sleep in most mornings, but I also had to work until 3 am, so ya know. The grass is always greener.

gringationcancun

i love your formspring questions!! Wish i could get as tan as you!
