The problem is that when you're having a bad day the last thing you need is negativity, even from yourself. Negativity does absolutely nothing except bring you down, and who needs that?
One of the things I want to accomplish on my 101 in 1001 list is to use an entire pad of post-its for Operation Beautiful. Operation Beautiful is a website dedicated to posting anonymous notes in public places for other women to find. The point is we're ALL beautiful and maybe if we took two seconds to tell each other that maybe we could all walk with our heads a little higher.

So today I bought a pad of post-its. And I plan on leaving little notes in places to let other women know they're beautiful - library books, maybe a bathroom mirror, on the windshield of someone's car.
Here's where I need your help: where are so good places to leave a pick me up post-it?
And here is my challenge: take part in Operation Beautiful with me. Lets make this world a more beautiful place.

That's an awesome idea. I tell myself how bad I look every day.
What an amazing and encouraging idea!! I know almost every woman struggles with body image and their looks, so this is a great way to boost confidence and remind woman that we are all beautiful!
I remembering hearing about this years ago and thinking I should do it but never got around to it. I could always use a confidence boost so I understand why other girls need it too. I may have to join along.
What a great idea!! In a dressing room at a department store maybe? Or inside the pocket of a garment in a department store?
I love this idea - I'll play along as soon as I can get myself a pad of post-it's (what color are you using?).
Dressing room mirrors are a must - that's always the place i feel fattest.
I especially love this idea because, as women, we are generally so catty to each other - this allows us to maybe begin to think in a different light.
I love this idea. I may have to join in. How fabulous.
I second the dressing room idea. I always feel AWFUL in dressing rooms. What about the makeup aisle at Target/CVS/etc? Elevator at work? Lots of interesting places to try!
What a great idea! Everyone needs a little encouragement now and then, so I may definitely try this with you!
I LOVE this idea! I'd say store dressing rooms. It seems like women are always the most critical of themselves when trying on clothes! :/
Blonde Duck! You are the most gorgeous person! Seriously- you are the epitome of beauty.
And Erika- that is the best idea!
this is such a lovely idea. i am going to go check it out now :)
cute idea! i love this!
what a lovely idea!! wouldn't that be nice to find something like that from a stranger? i know it would put a smile on my face!
i would put notes on windows inside coffee shops, on bathroom mirrors, if you take the public transit, on the inside of doors and windows, in a store that sells beauty products on a little mirror, even on a car window!
btw, i can't seem to subscribe to your blog; gReader keeps telling me that it can't find your feed :(
ok ignore my last comment re: gReader. of course it worked this time after i posted that!! :\
fantastic idea. library books, bathroom mirrors, park benches, car windshields...
so pretty :-) we could follow each other on fb and google if you want to !<3
That's really cute! I love it!
I think by mirrors in public bathrooms is a great place to leave a little note! I might just have to scrounge up a few post-its myself.
Oh my goodness this is such a good idea...thanks for sharing it with us Krysten!
OMG. I LOVE THIS IDEA! Such a wonderfully easy way to spread positivity! Can't wait to jump aboard this mission with you!
A great idea, it'll really make someones day. What about around your university? Bus stops?
I just read through your blog. I love it. You got a new follower.
As for this idea to make others feel beautiful with post its, I love it! You can leave them anywhere. On cars, on random boxes of cereal in the grocery store, or even on random mail boxes as you drive by. :)
What a great idea!
i adore this idea and am stealing it from you. i'd say, anywhere at target (tampon aisle?), the grocery store, inside a shoe at a department store...i will keep thinking!
What a wonderful idea! I love the idea of leaving them in library books, but also in the dressing rooms at shops, where you need it most!
Postsecret books in bookstores/libraries? Dressing rooms? does your city/college have a free newspaper that people grab in that? On the desks of students in classrooms? In the toilet (not IN in the toilet, obviously).
This is quite a fantastic idea! I love it.
Perhaps just have some on hand and when you see a woman who seems sad go "Hey, I think you dropped this" and hand her a post it note?
I love this idea! I happen to have an abundance of post-it notes, too.
Places to leave post-its:
* store shelves (especially the baby section at grocery store... lots of tired mommies)
* at the check out stand (especially the self checkouts)
* bathroom mirrors
* doors leaving a store
* windshields
* in letters you have to mail (bills, etc.)
* on free pamphlets
* doctor's office in a magazine (or any waiting room magazines)
* the inside of a bathroom stall
* on a chair at a restaurant
* on the table with your tip at a restaurant
* on the counter at the coffee shop when you pick up your coffee
* donation jars with your donation
* in the beauty section of Target, etc.
* in your neighbor's mailbox
So many places! I hope this helps you out!
This is a great idea.
Cool idea!! I could really use some of those notes on my bathroom mirror haha
bathrooms, car windows (not on the car, that is bad for the car.. we learned the hard way!) in a library book or a book at the book store. hmm that is hard! i think this is a wonderful idea.
a while back when i was dating broc, we were on our way home from a birthday party and were taking an old highway home. we went under a small overpass and on the side of the concrete in spray paint it said "you are beautiful" and it made me smile.
xoxo
i heard about this ages ago - totally need to join in with you and do this!
