Clever Plumage is more than just an accessories store, it's all about being environmentally friendly too. Creator Hillery prides herself on bringing to life delightfully delicate and beautiful pieces while using privately owned farms and aviaries to make sure they're eco-friendly. These gorgeous pieces range from small and simple to large and over the top, which means there's something for everyone in this fabulous shop.

 

Here's a little hello from the lovely Hillery:

Well hello there, My name is Hillery. I am a 25 year old  Georgia peach, transplanted to the Great White North, where I live with my super awesome Canadian husband James, and our sweet little black cat, Nori. In 2009 I started sewing pretty fascinators and hair pieces after visiting a local farm and coming home with billions of beautiful feathers.(Seriously it's like a treasure hunt out there!) I began selling my hair pieces that summer at  Roller Derby bouts in Atlanta and in 2011 I decided it was time to get serious and open an Etsy shop. I am still finding my way around this great and global web, but I am loving everything I am learning and I am super excited at the journey to come!

All of my feathers are hand gathered by me from privately owned farms.  Most of my feathers are naturally molted feathers from happy free range birds, while others have been salvage and recycled. I pride myself on being as environmental as possible and often use repurposed or vintage findings in my pieces.
